Native Dance Ministry

<<Prev  Firestarters Ministries August 2009 Next>>

We traveled to Suquamish to enjoy the activities of the Canoe Journey. It was our first time there. What a beautiful place. We drew a lot of attention because Pat wore a t-shirt that said “Warrior For Christ”…even the vendors took a second look at the phrase. Many stopped us to say, “I really like your shirt!”. God even uses t-shirts!

Oakville was next on the calendar. We greatly enjoyed the United Full Gospel Meetings. The church was packed, the speakers excellent and we wished we could have stayed for all the sessions. We both spoke and Pat announced and invited the women to attend The NW Native Women’s Conference in October at Muckleshoot.

Gary attended the Tacoma Day Aglow meeting this month as the advisor for the board. The Aglow is very strong in the Tacoma areas. Tulalip has an Aglow group on their reservation.

Several planning meetings were held in August for the up-coming First Native Families Celebrating Sobriety Conference September 25 & 26 to be held at the Pentecostal Church at Muckleshoot, put on by Firestarters Ministries.

We traveled to Sauk-Suaittle Reservation to minister to Chief James. What an awesome time. We sang, preached and prayed. Before leaving we lead a young man in the sinner’s prayer.& prayed with many. An open invitation stands for our return. Many prayer requests were given for the people of Sauk-Suaittle. The main ones are they desire to have a church, for salvation for their people and camp meetings to be held there.

The end of the month, we traveled to Neah Bay for Makah Days. This was a time of re-connecting with ministers and people and continuing to network. People come from many reservations to attend Makah Days.

We are teaching on fasting in our Monday night prayer gathering, participating in the fast ourselves and encouraging others to do the same.

Where did summer go? Our calendar is already full for September and October. The year is flying by!

Blessings to you all and thanks so much for your prayer covering and support as we reach the Nations for JESUS
